Nose
This wine offers aromatics of bright Bing cherry with a backdrop of early-season strawberries. A subtle aroma of vanilla from the time spent in the new French Oak is present as well.
Palate
The medium palate and the medium to long finish are typical of warmer growing seasons. The cherry aromatics found on the nose follow through on the palate along with flavors of raspberry jam.
Growing Conditions
These are adjacent blocks in our oldest vineyard.
Winemaking
The two juices used in this wine were fermented separately before being combined based on barrel selection.
Aging
This blend was aged for 14 months in 25% new French oak barrels.
Appearance
The rich color is a result of a ripe vintage and excellent extraction of Pinot Noir and Zweigelt together.
Food Pairing
Try pairing it with fish cooked in wine or tomato-based sauce to really bring out the flavors. It also goes well with chicken, duck, or fowl.
