Palate
A crisp dry white wine with a pronounced grapefruit quality
Growing Conditions
Similarly to New Zealand, the Lake Michigan Shore growing region with its cool maritime climate and sandy soils have become a desirable location for planting this variety due to the good drainage of the soil and poor fertility that encourages the vine to concentrate its flavors in lower yields.
Winemaking
Sauvignon Blanc is a crisp dry white wine that demonstrates a pronounced grapefruit quality reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc grown in the Marlborough region of New Zealand.
Food Pairing
Sauvignon Blanc, when slightly chilled, pairs well with fish or cheese and is also known as one of the few wines that can pair well with sushi and asparagus.
