Nose
This 90 Point, Gold Ward wine has rich aromas of dark cherries, brambleberries and allspice
Palate
A velvety soft, rich palate.
Bottling
After barrel aging the final blend was assembled and polish filtered for bottling.
Winemaking
Hand-harvested fruit was crushed and destemmed to 1/2-ton fermenters. must was inoculated with D254 yeast after a 4-day cold soak. Caps were plunged twice daily until dryness. Wine was pressed and racked after completing ML and after extended maceration of skins and seeds to extract tannin.
Aging
Press wine was racked to barrels where it was aged 12 months in 30% new French oak.
