A brief history
Baroda Founders Wine Cellar was launched in 2009, by Len Olson, a Pioneer in the Michigan Wine industry. His experience here dated back to the late 1960's when Len and a partner planted the first commercial European vines in Michigan. Len obtained the first new Michigan winery license since prohibition in 1972 at his earlier winery. Len passed away in 2014, but his legacy, love and passion for the Southwest Michigan wine industry lives on in his son, Gunnar, who is now the winemaker at Baroda Founders. Nestled in the heart of Southwest Michigan, One of the best grape-growing regions of the world (Lake Michigan Shore AVA). Our region's climate, with Lake Michigan to the West, is ideal for growing bountiful harvests of fruit.
