The nose is classically tart cherry up front with complex swirls of plum, clove, and eucalyptus. The flavor profile has a touch of orange rind with layers of strawberry, as well as earthier spice and leather tones from its life in subdued barrels.

Winemaking
Pinot Noir is the most widely planted red vinifera in Michigan. The primary reason for this is because our climate can grow Pinot Noir that exemplifies what makes it unique. The aromatics have a unique delicate perfume with a palette that is all about finesse. It is only when you over-ripen Pinot Noir that you lose what makes it so striking. That’s not a problem we have in this cool coastal region of northern Michigan.
This Pinot Noir is sourced from wineries throughout Oregon to create something that is a complete expression of the variety, rather than highlighting a west coast appellation. Oregon fruit was chosen as a foundational goal for what we hope to create from our Baia Estate Vineyard once the vines begin baring fruit.
Appearance
The light brick-red color is true to more delicate Pinot Noirs that prefer finesse to brute strength.
