A brief history

Nestled in the rolling hills "Up North" above the 45th parallel in Petoskey, Rudbeckia Farm is situated on 190 acres of scenic pasture land. We have an alluring romance with each varietal wine we produce. We are constantly devoted to producing limited quantity, delicious artisanal wines, celebrating the passion from the vine to the emotion in the bottle. We invite you to enjoy the pleasures we’ve bottled and, after your first taste, come to share our enthusiasm. We are the only brewery, distillery, winery, cidery and kitchen on a beautiful 100-year-old 190-acre farm in Northern Michigan. We make food & drink uniquely tied to a time, our land & people. Artisanal wines, beers and spirits from estate grown & local ingredients. Artisan cheese and charcuterie plates, desserts, and small bites. We're a welcoming place for people of all ages to enjoy community, fun & hospitality in a very special setting. We have over 5 miles of walking trails throughout the farm and into the vineyards. We have a regulation Bocce court, Horseshoes, and cornhole.

  • Matt Hopf, Winemaker, Brewer and Distiller

A Note from Our Brewer, Matt Hopf:

You can find me turning barley into cold bubbly brews, crushing grapes for that fine wine that takes time or distilling different spirits that I’m sure you're going to enjoy. I’m a local, by local standards, if you only go back 10 years and reside just a few country blocks from the brewery. I legally emigrated from the country up north and brought a bit of kindness you can taste in each glass. Coming from a long line of Hopfs, which in German translates to a brewer of hops, I’m trying to marry traditional brews with new ideas or just turning new ideas into something traditional.
